The Basic Course has three phases:

Design  l  Pattern - Making  l  Prototyping

The courses are aimed at stylists who decide to launch their own line and at committed participants in the search for a career. They are also addressed to those who already operate in the fashion sector, who are given the opportunity to expand and perfect their professional knowledge in the Bag Design sector. The programme we offer is also suitable for those who want to dedicate themselves to this professional sector as a hobby. There are no age limits. Furthermore, previous bag patter making experience is not required.

During the first lesson our aim is for you to acquire skills both in understanding bag design and in the technique of drawing a bag. Then we will proceed by illustrating and implementing the technique of developing bag patterns. All professional tools will be at your disposal such as cardboard, cutter, stick, compass etc. We will cover the various inherent topics such as the various types of bag sides (tooth flank, band flank, trunk), constructions and cuts (raw cut, reversed sewing and tucked).

In future lessons we will sew the prototypes of bags with the professional "arm" machine or we will make some insertions of the bags sewn completely by hand, in order to learn the true level of craftsmanship performed in the luxury sector.

The courses are set up so that each student is assisted individually, with a maximum of 4 participants per course. During the lessons you will be given the opportunity to create customized bag patterns.

Upon completion of the course, a certificate of attendance to the Bag Pattern Making and Prototyping course will be issued.

Lessons on Metallic Accessories

With the aim of approaching the complex sector of metallic accessories, visits will be organized at the prestigious and historic Florentine company BARNINI.

A company expert will guide us in an excursion that will allow us to immerse ourselves in the magic of the processes: the development of the stylistic and technical design, the cutting of the brass accessory, the cleaning, the electroplating technique and the quality control procedures.
